Cat Demanding To Be Dressed in Shark Hoodie Before Bed Delights Internet

A cat owner has left the Internet in stitches after revealing that her pet demands to be dressed in a shark hoodie before going to bed, in a short clip that has quickly gone viral on social media.

In the post, shared on TikTok on Sunday under the username Iam.sobie, the tabby bobtail cat can be seen carrying a blue shark-shaped hoodie down the stairs, taking it all the way to his owner across the room, seemingly asking for help putting it on.

In the caption, the original poster writes: "Each night, my cat carries his shark hoodie to us, requesting that we dress him in it, as he insists on wearing clothing when going to sleep."

Most cats don't like wearing clothes because they feel overheated and restricted, and some items may also weigh them down. However, according to pet experts at PetKeen, cats with shorthair do sometimes appreciate the warmth of a sweater, and all the attention that comes with it.

While you should not force your cat to wear clothes, if you really think they have reasons to be cold and need an extra layer of protection, you can make this more comfortable for them by choosing lightweight, soft materials, like cotton.

"You can encourage your cat to put just its head through the shirt and slowly work your way to get the shirt completely on your cat. Using treats and praise can also motivate your cat to wear a shirt," their website states.

The video quickly went viral on social media, getting viewers from across TikTok. It has so far received over 2.1 million views and 232,700 likes on the platform.

One user, MJ, commented: "I demand to see him in his shark hoodie." And Jennifer Gregory said: "How can you not show us him in the hoodie??"

Sydelle Chase-Rosari wrote: "Ran to the comments. Glad to see I'm not the only one waiting for the ENTIRE dressing process AND a vid of him sleeping in it!!"

Another user, Kelly Rose, commented: "Someone better bring me back when we get to see him as ready for bed!" And The Loki Show added: "Your shark cat should meet my lion cat."
